The Springfield-Greene County Office of Emergency Management hosts CERT training courses to members of the public interested in taking care of themselves and their families during disasters and/or becoming a CERT volunteer. During training, participants will learn the basic disaster preparedness skills both in the classroom and in the field. Course curriculum includes:
Training concludes with class participants responding to a simulated disaster to practice the skills they have learned.
Our next CERT Basic Academy class is a hybrid-style course with some virtual lessons combined with seated classes and practical exercises at the Public Safety Center in Springfield.
